India vs Pakistan WCL: Ajay Devgn's Photo with Afridi Sparks Row
The World Championship of Legends (WCL) in Birmingham faced a setback when former Indian cricket stars, including Harbhajan Singh and Shikhar Dhawan, refused to play against Pakistan. The match was cancelled due to political tensions between the two countries. Organisers had hoped to create "happy memories" with the event.
Meanwhile, a picture of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has gone viral. Fans criticised Ajay for posing with Afridi, who previously mocked the Indian army during border tensions. The image sparked controversy on social media platforms.

Ajay Devgn's Viral Picture
The controversial photo of Ajay and Afridi is actually from the 2024 WCL edition. Ajay attended the final match at Edgbaston in Birmingham, where India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions. This image was not taken after any recent incidents involving Afridi.
Despite the cancellation of the India-Pakistan league stage match, both teams could still face each other in the semi-finals if they qualify. The organisers are preparing for such scenarios, including a potential final clash between these two teams.
Tournament's Future Plans
Kamil Khan, owner of Pakistan Champions, stated that the WCL will proceed as planned without changes. He mentioned that if India and Pakistan meet again in knockouts, WCL might need to intervene. "All remaining matches are taking place as per schedule," he confirmed.
