India vs Australia: Arshdeep Singh Thanks Suryakumar Yadav For Believing In Him

After bowling a perfect last over studded with back-to-back block hole deliveries, Arshdeep Singh thanked captain Suryakumar Yadav for believing in him. Singh had conceded 37 runs in his first three overs, and no one would have thought that the captain will trust the left-arm pacer to defend 10 runs off the final 6 balls against dangerous Matthew Wade. Showcasing his class, Singh allowed only 3 runs to hand over a 6-run defeat to Australia.

"I gave away too many runs but God gave me another chance and the support staff believed in me. To be honest, nothing was going in my mind. Surya bhai told me whatever has to happen will happen," Arshdeep said after the match at Bangalore.

"A lot of lessons learned but I will come back from the mistakes," Singh added.

Happy with the players' collective effort and series win, Captain Suryakumar Yadav said, "It was a good series. The way the boys showed their skills was commendable. We wanted to be fearless, we wanted to enjoy when we were in the middle. I told them, "do whatever is right and just enjoy your game," and they did the same. So very happy with that."

Although it was a nail-biting encounter between both teams, Surya admitted that if Washington Sundar had been in the side then it would have been easier to win as the pitch was assisting spinners.

"If he (Washington Sundar) would have been there it'd have been an add-on. At Chinnaswamy, 200+ is easier to chase. 160-175 is a tricky told here. After 10 overs, I told the boys that we have a game on."

Along with Arshdeep, Mukesh Kumar bowled superbly picking 3-wickets on a slow track at the M Chinnaswamy stadium resulting in India's victory.
