India Tour Of Sri Lanka: Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah To Be Rested, Rohit Sharma Likely To Return For ODIs
As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources former cricketer Ajit Agarkar led senior men's team selection committee is now likely to meet on Thursday and may announce 15 15-member squad for India's tour of Sri Lanka. According to the reports, some senior cricketers namely Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, who were part of India's contingent for the month-long ICC T20 World Cup 2024, have been rested. While many top-notch players who did not get a chance in world tournaments, are eyeing a comeback.
Batter Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma and kids Vamika and Akaay, is in London, and Jasprit Bumrah is also currently spending time with his family.

Vice-captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also requested time out from the BCCI from the upcoming 3 match ODI series against Sri Lanka following personal reasons, but he will be playing the T20 series.
According to some media reports, BCCI's selection committee, secretary Jay Shah, and new head coach Gautam Gambhir were supposed to meet today, but their meeting has been postponed for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that the selection panel is waiting for Rohit Sharma's confirmation for the ODI series. He has already announced his retirement from the T20 internationals after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. If Rohit agrees to play the ODI series against Sri Lanka, then selectors need to find the captain's replacement only for T20s.
INDIA Vs SRI LANKA:
Team India is scheduled to play 3 T20 and 3 ODI matches with Sri Lanka in the Island nation. The IND vs SL series will start from July 27, 2024. If reports are to be believed then KL Rahul, Surya Kumar Yadav and Shubman Gill are frontrunners for Team India's captaincy.
