India Enters T20 World Cup Final: Axar Patel, Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Star As India Crush England By 68 Runs
India In T20 World Cup Final: Rohit Sharma ana co. stunned England in the second semi-final match and handed over a defeat by 68 runs at Guyana's Providence Stadium. With the sixth consecutive victory in the T20 World Cup, Team India booked their berth for the T20 World Cup finals against South Africa slated for Saturday.
Skipper Rohit Sharma once again led the team from the front. He scored a blitzkrieg half-century (57) off just 39 balls studded with 6 rolling boundaries and 2 towering sixers. Second opener and ace Indian batter Virat Kohli, who has failed to impress with bat in this T20 World Cup, once again went back early after English pacer Reece Topley toppled his bails when he was playing on 9.

Next was young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to join Rohit Sharma, however, English bowlers had tasted the blood by the time and they did not allow the left-hander to settle down. He was caught within a few minutes of Virat Kohli's departure. Rishabha Pant scored only 4 runs.
Then entered India's Mr. 360 degree, Surya Kumar Yadav. Power hitter took a few balls to settle first and then punished the English bowling lineup with hard-hitting. Surya Kumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma steadied the ship to take the score above 100-run-mark.
Spinner Adil Rashid picked up Rohit Sharma's wicket when India was 113. But by that time, the skipper had done his job and laid a strong foundation that helped middle-order batters to pin a respectable total.
Suryakumar Yadav, who hit big shots all around the stadium, notched 47 runs off 36 balls including 4 fours and 2 sixers. He impressed everyone with an astonishing strike rate above 130.
After the big dismissal, middle-order batters Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja moved the game ahead and kept the scoreboard moving with the same pace. They scored important 23 and 17* runs.
Hardik Pandya played only 13 balls and hit two back-to-back sixes, that entertained the crowd to its best and added much-needed quick runs.
Jadeja was holding one end, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals from the other side. Axar Patel also contributed 10 runs in India's total of 171/7 in 20 overs.
England's chase:
Defending champion England had never even thought that they might face such a humiliating defeat. All credit to India spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, English batting line-up fell like a house of cards.
Both the bowlers trapped 6 English batsmen together with their quick-turning balls. Harry Brook (25) and captain Jos Buttle (23) were the highest scorers for England in the semi-final match against India.
Team India will now meet South Africa on Saturday at Kensington Oval Bridgetown, Barbados for the title clash. South Africa, known as the choker of semis, has entered the World Cup finals for the first time and their captain Aiden Markram must be wishing to win the cup for his country from here.
In contrast, the Men in Blue are looking forward to end 17-year drought by clinching the cup. India won the maiden T20 World Cup edition in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
