India Beats Australia By 44 Runs, Takes 2-0 Lead

India on Sunday beat Australia by 44 runs in the second T20I match to take 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

In pursuit of a challenging 236, Australia managed to reach only 191 for nine in 20 overs. Ravi Bishnoi took two crucial wickets during the powerplay, contributing to Australia losing their top four batsmen with only 58 runs on the board. Glenn Maxwell (12) was also dismissed at an early stage.

Following that, Marcus Stoinis took charge of the chase with a rapid innings. However, Mukesh Kumar (1/43) halted his progress, dismissing him for 45 to provide a breakthrough. Prasidh Krishna (3/41) also played a key role, securing three wickets.

After asking to bat first, India posted a huge 235/4. India was off to a flier with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad making 77 runs for the opening wicket in 5.5 overs.

Jaiswal departed for 25-ball 53, before Ishan Kishan (52) joined Gaikwad (58) in an 87-run alliance for the second wicket. Rinku Singh made a quickfire cameo of an unbeaten 31 from nine balls.

It may be recalled that India had emerged victorious in the first T20I at Vizag by two wickets.
