Ind vs SA 2nd Test Day 2: Know What Happened On Day 1, How India Lose Six Wickets For Zero Runs
On Day 1 of the second test between India and South Africa, it was all going in India's favor, in the first inning when pacer Mohammed Siraj scalped six wickets, leaving the Proteas shocked. With two wickets each, Mukesh Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah helped Siraj to restrict the hosts to a low total of 55 runs. At a point, it looked like Team India got the revenge for Centurion's defeat, but Indian fans' happiness did not last long.
Soon things got jinxed as young Yashsvi Jaiswal returned without opening his account. Then Shubhman Gill joined skipper Rohit Sharma to steady the ship. After 17 overs, Rohit Sharma too went back to the pavilion after he was caught by Marco Jansen on a pace delivery from Nandre Burger. Rohit scored 39 with the help of seven fours.

It was now Virat Kohli's turn to bat. Senior cricketer showed his skills by launching a counterattack and gathered valuable 46. Slowly and steadily Team India pushed the score to 153. Shubhman Gill then departed after scoring 36 runs off 55 balls.
But then something unexpected and heartbreaking happened leaving Indian cricket fans, players, and everybody supporting the visitors stunned. The team which was 153 for 4, got all out without even adding a single run to the total. 6 wickets fell for no run. It was the most humiliating performance ever in the history of Indian cricket in South Africa.
Out of 11, 7 batsmen could not even manage to open their accounts. Speedsters Lungi Nagidi, Nandre Burger, and Kagiso Rabada collectively turned the table around. At a point when it looked like India was going to crush South Africa in Cape Town, the hosts bounced back by dismantling the world's best batting lineup, arguably.
Though it is a test match, the opening day was full of thrill and entertainment just like a T20 game. Day 1 of a test match saw the third inning, it was a rare thing.
At stumps on Day 1, South Africa was 63 for 3 trailing India's 153 by 36 runs.
