IND vs NZ: Bengaluru Rainy Weather Dampens Hopes For Day 1 Of India vs New Zealand Test Match
A gloomy and wet day has set the tone for what could be a disappointing start to the India vs New Zealand 1st Test in Bengaluru. With persistent rain in the air, hopes for a full day of play are slim. Yesterday's practice sessions were completely washed out, and as the scheduled toss approached, rain continued to pour over M Chinnaswamy Stadium, raising concerns for cricket fans.
Given Bengaluru's unpredictable weather, it wasn't entirely unexpected. The forecast suggests that the rain may not ease up until 2:30 PM, making it a long and frustrating wait for both teams and fans. Weather.com has reported an 18% chance of rainfall during the match hours, with the likelihood of rain impacting the first two sessions of play significantly. There might be some relief later in the day, but the initial hours could well be lost to the elements.

India, fresh off a commanding Test series whitewash against Bangladesh, come into this match as clear favourites. Led by Rohit Sharma, the team will be eager to continue their dominance in the red ball format, especially on home soil. However, the rain might delay their plans as they host New Zealand in this much-anticipated three-match series opener.
Meanwhile, New Zealand have had a bumpy road leading up to this series. After being swept 0-2 by Australia on home turf, their performance in Sri Lanka also left much to be desired, with the Kiwis being outplayed in all departments. The team will be hoping to turn things around in Bengaluru, though the weather may be their first obstacle.
With rain expected to impact much of the day, cricket lovers will need to keep their fingers crossed for clearer skies as the match progresses.
