Ind vs Eng Hyderabad Test: Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble Laud KL Rahul For Splendid Batting

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Zaheer Khan lauded Indian batter KL Rahul for his splendid inning during the inaugural test of the five-match series against England at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. KL Rahul notched 86 runs off 123 balls studded with 8 rolling boundaries and 2 towring sixes, helping India to mark a good lead against visitors 246.

Praising the batter, Zaheer Khan said this is KL Rahul's new avatar. This is KL Rahul 2.0. A new version of his old self.

Former Indian skipper Anil Kumble and ex-English cricketer Owais Shah also praised KL Rahul for his powerful inning that placed India in a strong position against Ben Stokes and side.

After KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja slammed a half-century to mark a 175-run lead by the end of Day Two. At the stumps, India was 421/7 in 110 overs. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel will continue to bat on Day 3 as India eyes to pin over 500 runs on the scoreboard.

This was KL Rahul's Test career's 14th half-century that displayed his evolving game, patience, and continuous hard work.

In the first inning, England captain Ben Stokes was the only one who displayed some good hands and scored a fifty. He scored 70 valuable runs off 88 balls.

It was a show of spinners as turning balls by R Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja restricted Englishmen for a low total of 246. Together, the three spinners picked up eight wickets, while two were bagged by speedster Jasprit Bumrah.
