Ultimately, England succumbed to India's bowling attack, collapsing for 122 runs, resulting in their most significant defeat to India.

India's victory marked their largest-ever margin of runs in Test cricket, surpassing their previous record of a 372-run triumph against New Zealand in Mumbai in 2021. The defeat also ranks as the second-worst loss for the Three Lions in Tests, following a 562-run defeat to Australia at the Oval in 1934.
