Hamiza Mukhtar Sexual Harassment Case: Cricketer Babar Azam Gets Relief
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday gave some relief to ace Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam in the Hamiza Mukhtar sexual harrasment case. The court summoned Hamiza Mukhtar on December 12. This development follows Babar's challenge against a trial court's decision to register a case against him. Justice Mohammed Waheed Khan, overseeing the matter, has extended the stay order on filing the case. Barrister Haris Azmat is representing Babar Azam in court.
Allegations Against Babar Azam

Hamiza Akhtar claimed she was in a long-term relationship with Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam. She alleged that during their relationship, she became pregnant and faced pressure from Babar to terminate the pregnancy. Hamiza also stated that Babar had promised marriage as a resolution to their issues. To support her claims, she filed medical documents alongside her complaint against him.
The police registered an FIR based on these medical documents provided by Hamiza. However, she accused the police of being hesitant to act on her complaint. This reluctance added another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal proceedings involving Babar Azam.
Babar Azam's legal team is actively challenging the trial court's decision regarding the registration of the case. The extension of the stay order by Justice Mohammed Waheed Khan provides temporary relief for Babar as his legal battle continues.
The upcoming hearing on December 12 will be crucial in determining how this case progresses further. Both parties are expected to present their arguments and evidence before the court for consideration.
This case has garnered significant attention due to Babar Azam's prominence in cricket and the serious nature of the allegations made against him. The outcome could have implications not only for those involved but also for public perception surrounding such cases.
