Ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Star AB de Villiers Blunt Remark On Ishan Kishan

South Africa great and former Royal Challengers Bangalore star AB de Villiers, famous as Mr 360 Degree for his orthodox batting style, made big remarks on young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan. De Villiers said Ishan Kishan himself is responsible for the situation he is facing. It has been caused by a lack of communication between him and team management.

For the unversed, Ishan Kishan has been away from international and domestic cricket since December 2023. At that time, he had opted out of the South Africa tour citing mental fatigue and continued to remain absent from all formats of the game. His last appearance was in a T20I match against Australia in November last week.

Notably, Ishan Kishan did not even contact the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), his domestic team, to take part in Ranji Trophy 2024.

And now, it is getting difficult for Ishan Kishan to make a comeback to the national side as coach Rahul Dravid made it clear that youngsters have to perform at the domestic level first, only after that they would be picked to donn the blue jersey.

On his YouTube show, for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Star AB de Villiers said "It is a very tricky situation. Players trying to manage their careers, and rightfully so, but the difficulty around this is that there are a lot of T20 leagues around the world, IPL, and it's taking up a lot of attention...of the player's focus is on that".

"Very difficult because the ultimate format of the game is still Test cricket and all Test-playing nations really wanna look after the Test format, so there is a bit of force in all kinds of directions here...," de Villiers said.

"So, whether Ishan is doing it wrong or other players are doing it right or wrong, I do not know but what needs to happen is proper communication. So, the players know exactly what, not only proper communication but proper and regular communication," ex-RCB batter said.
