After Aishwarya Rai, Rashmika Mandhana Deepfake Videos, Virat Kohli's False Video Goes Viral
Technology is helpful, technology makes your work easy, but the same technology can be dangerous if used with wrong intentions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is leading the world today to save time, energy, and money, is now being used by digital scammers to mislead people and spread false information.
Earlier, several Bollywood stars namely Aishwarya Rai, Rashmika Mandhana, Amitabh Bachchan, and Sara Tendulkar, Sachin Tendulkar reported about their deepfake videos, and now star cricketer Virat Kohli's AI fabricated video is doing round the internet. According to the reports, Virat Kohli's deepfake video promotes a betting application and the cricketer can be seen wooing people to place, bet money for high returns.

The video is false and Virat Kohli is not associated with any such betting application.
The scammers have dubbed a popular TV journalist's video to compile it with Virat Kohli's footage to make it look more credible. Even the logo of Aaj Tak was misused as the channel does not endorse any such content. The video looks like a small piece of news, in which, the journalist talks about Virat Kohli's huge profit and in the later part the cricketer can be falsely seen promoting the betting application.
Virat Kohli's false viral video was made in Hindi to look more like a real one and attract a wider audience.

@imVkohli pic.twitter.com/Q5RnDE3UPr
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar had reported a similar incident saying "Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes," Sachin posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
