Bengaluru Weather Forecast: What Will Happen If Rain Interrupts IPL 2024 CSK vs RCB Crucial Match?

Bengaluru Weather Forecast: Indian Premier League aka IPL 2024 is close to the end of the league stage, and franchise teams are eyeing to book their berths for the IPL Playoffs 2024. Gautam Gambhir mentored Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has already qualified for the IPL playoffs 2024, which intensified the contest for the rest 3 vacant positions between the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Team Rajasthan is in the second position with 16 points, followed by CSK, SRH, and DC with 14 points each. While RCB is at the sixth position with 12 points. But what makes Bengaluru a front-runner in the race of IPL 2024 Playoffs is their Net Run Rate (NRR) + 0.387.

Bengaluru Weather Forecast For IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bengaluru still has one match left against Chennai Super Kings slated for May 18, which will be a decider for both sides. If RCB managed to beat CSK by a margin of more than 18 runs (batting first) or with 11 balls remaining (if chasing), then the Bengaluru team will take a leapfrog over Delhi and Chennai.

CSK, whose NRR will drop down, if RCB hands over them a defeat, will move to the fifth position and SRH will be promoted to the third position. Hyderabad also has two more games left, that may again change its position in the IPL points table.

However, Chennai and Bengaluru will be playing their final league stage match in the tournament.

But what will happen if rain soiled the sport?

If the rain god interrupted the play, then the situation will favour MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings as they have better NRR than Virat Kohli's RCB. Though fans have been praying for IPL 2024 CSK vs RCB high-voltage decider, but the weather reports suggest that rain may disturb the play. Weather forecasts suggest 75% chances of precipitation on May 18 in Bengaluru, accompanied with thunderstorms and strong winds.

Is there any reserve day for CSK vs RCB match?

No! The BCCI has not kept any reserve day for any league match, which means both teams have to share one point each if the match gets abandoned due to weather conditions. This situation will benefit CSK, which will then have one point extra compared to RCB which will power them to qualify for the IPL playoffs 2024.
