BCCI Announces Squads For India Vs South Africa Series; Virat, Rohit, Shami Rested For T20s, ODIs
The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the Indian squads for the South Africa tour. Team India has been scheduled to play three T20, three ODI, and two Test matches against the Proteas starting from December 10. The has squads are selected by a panel of selectors led by former cricketer Ajit Agarkar.
Senior players Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have been rested from the white ball games following the long-tiring ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Both the batters will join the side back for the Centurion and Cape Town tests. Trying to move on from the heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the cricket world cup finals, Virat Kohli is in on a holiday in London at present, while Rohit too is in the United Kingdom, media reports claimed.

Pacer Mohammed Shami will also miss the T20 and ODI series as he is undergoing medical treatment for a shoulder injury.
In the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul will lead the side for ODIs.
Suryakumar Yadav, who has been leading the side from the front in the ongoing series against Australia, has been named as Captain for the T20 series.
India vs South Africa T20 series will commence with a game at Durbur on December 10, followed by Gqeberha on December 12, and Johannesburg on December 14.
The ODI series will start on December 17 from the same venue, Johannesburg, where the T20 series will end.
The other two ODIs will be played at Gqeberha on December 19 and Paarl on December 21.
The Centurion and Cape Town tests are scheduled for December 26 and January 3.
