Hyderabad, January 22: England coach Brendon McCullum has confirmed that captain Ben Stokes is fully fit and ready to lead the team in the upcoming five-match Test series against India, starting on Thursday in Hyderabad.

Stokes Underwent Knee Surgery in November
Stokes, 32, underwent surgery in November last year to address a long-standing left-knee problem. Despite the surgery, McCullum expressed confidence in Stokes' fitness and work ethic.
McCullum Praises Stokes' Work Ethic
"He (Stokes) looks like a greyhound. He's put the work in, everyone knows his work ethic is phenomenal," said McCullum. "He's trained with the squad during our camp in Abu Dhabi last week, but did not bowl. He is unlikely to bowl in the Test series also."
England Arrives in India, Begins Training
The England team arrived in India on Sunday and held their first training session at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday. Stokes participated in the training session but did not bowl.
Brook Returns to UK, Lawrence Named as Replacement
England is without batter Harry Brook, who has returned to the UK for personal reasons. Dan Lawrence has been named as his replacement, although Brook could potentially return for the tour, which lasts until March.
Visa Delay for Spinner Shoaib Bashir
Uncapped spinner Shoaib Bashir could not accompany the team due to a visa delay and remained in Abu Dhabi. McCullum expressed support for Bashir and hoped that his visa would be approved soon.
With Stokes declared fit and the team preparing for the Test series, England will be looking to put up a strong performance against India. The series promises to be an exciting contest between two of the top cricketing nations.
