Abhishek Sharma Attributes IPL Success to Rigorous Pre-Season Training

Abhishek Sharma's explosive performance, featuring a rapid 12-ball 37, played a pivotal role in Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) triumph over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match. The young cricketer attributed his success to the rigorous preparation he undertook before the tournament, under the guidance of cricket luminaries Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh.

IPL: Abhisheks Success Thanks to Hard Work

In a remarkable second over against CSK, Sharma unleashed his fury on bowler Mukesh Chaudhary, scoring 27 runs that included two fours and three sixes. This early onslaught set the tone for SRH's chase of a 166-run target, which they achieved with 11 balls remaining, thanks to Aiden Markram's steady innings.

"It is all the hard work I have put in before this. Special thanks to my dad, Yuvi paaji, and Brian Lara," Sharma stated during the post-match presentation, where he was named player of the match. He also highlighted the team's strategy to exploit the powerplay, given their anticipation of a slow pitch.

When questioned about his preference between achieving high strike rates or scoring big runs, Sharma expressed his inclination towards substantial scores but acknowledged the flow of the game on that day. SRH captain Pat Cummins humorously remarked on the challenge of bowling to Sharma, indicating his formidable form.

The match conditions, characterized by a black soil pitch that progressively slowed down, played a significant role in the game's dynamics. Despite these challenges, SRH leveraged their fast bowlers effectively, using cutters to adapt to the conditions.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad lamented his team's inability to capitalize during the final overs and acknowledged SRH's superior bowling in the latter half of the game. He noted that a score around 170-175 would have been par on this pitch but conceded that CSK's performance in the powerplay with the ball was lacking.

The enthusiastic home crowd and their reaction to MS Dhoni's appearance were also highlighted by Cummins, who expressed his team's enjoyment of playing under such vibrant conditions. Despite some dew forming in the later stages of the match and Moeen Ali managing to spin the ball around the 15th-16th overs, CSK could not secure a win against a well-prepared SRH side.
