12 vehicles engaged in illegal sand mining seized
Pakur (Jharkhand), Sept 8: Altogether 12 tractors and trucks allegedly engaged in illegal mining of sand were seized during a raid by officials in Maheshpur area of Pakur district on Wednesday, Pakur SDO Vidyanand Sharma Pankaj said.
Officials said on receiving a complaint, Pankaj led a task force and conducted raid in Bansloi river bed, where some people were mining sand illegally.
Pankaj, accompanied by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kishore Kaushal, District Transport Officer Ram Kumar Mandal and District Mining Officer Suresh Sharma, seized 12 vehicles mostly tractors, from the spot.
Pankaj said the drivers of the vehicles and others managed to flee. He said further action are being initiated in this regard.
