Pune Zilla Parishad Shuts Down Schools: Check These 13 Unauthorized School Names

Last week, the Pune Zilla Parishad ordered the closure of 13 unauthorised schools. Police complaints have been filed against 10 of these schools, and cases against the remaining three will be filed soon, as reported by Hindustan Times.

This was confirmed by Sanjay Naikade, the primary education officer of the Pune Zilla Parishad.

13 Unauthorised Schools Closed

The list of unauthorised schools released by the Zilla Parishad includes:

  • Kidgerjee School, Daund
  • Jijau Education Society Abhang Shishu Vikas Kasurdi, Daund
  • Yashshree English Medium School Sonavadi, Daund
  • Bhairavanath English Medium School, Moi
  • Sanskriti International School, Ambegaon Khurd
  • Smt Sulochanatai Zende Child Development Temple and Primary School, Kunjeerwadi
  • Rivstone English Medium School, Parne Phata
  • Sonai English Medium School, Fursungi
  • Shreyan International School, Maval
  • Venkeshwara World School, Maval
  • Mount Everest English School, Kasarwadi
  • Shri Chaitanya English Medium School Vishalnagar, Pimple Nilakh
  • Care Foundation Pune Run Emmanuel Public School, Hadapsar

Previously, the Pune Zilla Parishad had released a list of 49 unauthorised schools. Out of these, five were later approved, three received a letter of intent from the government, four filed petitions in court, and two paid fines, according to the news agency.

In the meantime, schools in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and surrounding areas have been ordered to remain closed today, July 25, due to heavy rains, as reported by News 18. This order was issued by collector Suhas Diwase following a red alert from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The order for school closures also applies to the areas of Bhor, Velhe, Maval, Mulshi, and Khadakwasla.

The IMD has forecasted heavy to intense rain in Pune and its surrounding areas for the next few hours. Mumbai is also expected to experience moderate to heavy rain (yellow alert) on Thursday and throughout Wednesday evening. A red alert for extremely heavy rain has been issued for central Maharashtra until July 25.
