Pune: Woman's dead body found in suitcase; live-in-partner arrested

, July 9: Suspicion provoked live in partner, 23-year-old Prashant Jeevan Suryavanshi to brutally

her beloved, 21-year-old Anuradha Ganpat Kulkarni in Pune on June 28 night.

Anuradha's body was found stuffed in a suitcase on June 29 near Kharadi area and Pune police launched a manhunt to arrest the killer.

In solving the murder case, WhatsApp, a smart phone app, played a key role in finding out the culprit.

Police circulated the victim's image on WhatsApp to establish the identity of the girl. Her employer managed to identify the girl and infomed police.

Police then, investigated the background of the girl and came to know that she was in a live-in-relationship from last three years with Prashant, from Latur and both were staying in Ghorpadi area of Pune.

Prashant is said to a auto driver who was irked by Anuradha's habit of always being hooked on to WhatsApp and chatting her with friends.

As Anuradha had kept a password, Prashant developed suspicion that she was in any other relationship.

So, the suspicion drove him to eliminate Anuradha from his life. Prashant was arrested from Vadodara in Gujarat. After his arrest, he confessed to have killed Anuradha by strangulating her.

He has been taken into police custody and Anuradha is survived by her sister.
