Pune Porsche Crash: Lawyer Claims 17-Year-Old Suffering From Depression

In a recent development from Pune, the lawyer of the 17-year-old involved in a fatal Porsche crash has suggested that the teen was suffering from depression. This statement comes a day after the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) sent the accused to an observation home until June 5, following the tragic incident that resulted in the death of two software engineers. The teenager was reportedly driving the luxury vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Prashant Patil, the lawyer defending the young individual, initially stated that the teen was drinking to celebrate but later introduced the depression angle to explain his behavior. This revelation surfaced after it was confirmed through CCTV footage that the accused was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Furthermore, the Pune Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, disclosed that the blood samples of the accused were collected twice within a span of three to four hours from different hospitals. This procedure, according to Kumar, was a precautionary measure to prevent any potential tampering with the evidence. "Yes, 2 blood samples were collected as a matter of precaution," Commissioner Kumar acknowledged. He explained that having a second sample ensures there is a reference in case one report is manipulated.

The juvenile court has decided that the teenager will be tried for drunk driving under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. This law makes it a criminal offence to drive with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 30 mg per 100 ml as determined by a breath analyzer test.

In a twist to the case, it has been revealed that the family of the accused has alleged underworld connections. Pune Police have identified a link between the teen's family and notorious gangster Chhota Rajan. SK Agarwal, the grandfather of the accused, has been implicated in a high-profile murder case from 2009, involving the assassination of Pune corporator Ajay Bhosale. The case, which is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), suggests that shooters associated with Chhota Rajan were hired for the hit, with both Agarwal and Rajan being accused.

This complex case has drawn attention not only for the tragic loss of life but also for the layers of personal and criminal intrigue surrounding the accused's family. The legal proceedings and police investigations are ongoing, with the community closely watching for updates.
