Critics have voiced concerns about the court's decision to grant bail to the juvenile on the same day as the accident. Additionally, the requirement for teenagers to write an essay on road accidents has been met with scepticism. Notably, the 17-year-old is the son of a well-known real estate developer in the city, and the car involved in the accident, a Porsche, was reportedly running without a registration number.

The victims of the accident, Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, both 24 years old and engineers from Madhya Pradesh, were riding a two-wheeler when the speeding Porsche collided with their bike from behind. The incident occurred in Pune's Kalyaninagar during the early hours of Sunday.

In a recent development, CCTV footage from the Cosie bar in Pune has surfaced. The footage shows the teenager drinking with friends just hours before the accident. The table occupied by the teenager was observed to be crowded with alcohol bottles.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that they will be seeking permission from a higher court to treat the juvenile as an adult. Despite their initial application being rejected by the Juvenile Justice Board, they are determined to pursue the matter in the sessions court.

While awaiting the teenager's blood test results, preliminary investigations suggest that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Commissioner Kumar emphasized the significance of the CCTV footage from the bar, which clearly depicts the teenager consuming alcohol. The police intend to present this evidence to the court.

Furthermore, the police have taken additional legal action. Charges have been filed against the juvenile's father under the Juvenile Justice Act. Additionally, charges have been brought against the proprietors of the bar for serving alcohol to a minor. These cases have been transferred to the crime branch for further investigation.
