Pune: Police Issues Section 144 To Regulate Nightlife, Here's What We Know
Raids have been conducted by the police on the arbitrary operations of 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' businesses in the city, and the decision to strictly enforce Section 144 has been made to ensure compliance with the rules.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has indicated that stringent action will be taken against any violation of the rules, as per the guidance provided under Section 144.

Police Issues Section 144
According to information provided by the police commissioner, 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' hotels are required to adhere to the agreed-upon establishment times. It has been mandated that the prescribed time limits must be strictly adhered to, and no hotel or 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' should remain open after midnight.
Additionally, action will be taken if alcohol sales are conducted on rooftop hotels without permission. Ensuring that alcohol is not sold without a permit in these establishments is imperative. Moreover, individuals allowed to consume alcohol must be served accordingly.
Furthermore, it has been mandated that detailed information must be provided to the police at least 15 days before any entertainment event, including DJs, artists, or foreign performers. Providing information about the events for which tickets are being sold to the police is essential.
Mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in each 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' hotel has been ordered. It has also been mandated that two DVRs be installed for these CCTV cameras. Additionally, providing a separate space for 'smoking' is deemed necessary.
Security guards are mandatory for 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' hotels. It has been specified that if bouncers are employed, their criminal records must be checked. Individuals with criminal records in the past ten years cannot be hired as security guards.
In cases where hiring is necessary, written permission from local district-level officials is required in adverse situations. It is the responsibility of security guards to ensure the safety and traffic control of civilians.
If any hookah or similar items are found in 'pub-bar-restaurant-rooftop' hotels, they are completely banned. The sale of tobacco products within 100 meters of schools and colleges is also prohibited. Action will be taken if the sale of these products is found in such areas.
