Pune Police Finds 10-Year-Old Missing Girl With Help Of Social Media
A 10-year-old girl with mental disabilities went missing from Bibvewadi, prompting a large-scale search by Pune police. CCTV footage last captured her in the Katraj area, leading police commissioner Amitesh Kumar and senior officials to rush there.
On August 14, the girl disappeared from her home in Papalasti, Bibvewadi. Her family, originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, had moved to Pune for work. Her father works in the Market Yard area. After failing to locate her, her parents reported her missing to the police.

Over 500 police personnel were deployed to find the girl. Her photo and details were quickly shared on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. The police reviewed CCTV footage from Bibvewadi and Katraj areas. It was determined that after leaving home, she became disoriented and couldn't find her way back.
The footage showed her moving through Gangadham Road, Kakade Vasti, and Khadi Machine Chowk before arriving in Katraj Chowk. As suspicions of kidnapping grew, a message was sent to all police stations. Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, joint police commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and deputy commissioner R Raja visited the Bibvewadi police station.
Delivery Boy's Alertness
Saurabh Bhausaheb Gosavi, a food delivery employee, played a crucial role in finding the girl. He spotted her wandering alone in Kondhwa late at night and informed the police immediately. The Kondhwa police detained her and identified her as the missing child from Bibvewadi.
The girl was escorted to Bibvewadi police station where she was reunited with her family. A medical examination was conducted to ensure her well-being. Her parents expressed immense gratitude towards the police for their relentless efforts.
This incident occurred on Independence Day and highlighted the positive side of society and law enforcement. The girl's safe return was a result of coordinated efforts by multiple teams working tirelessly throughout the night.
The girl's parents were overwhelmed with gratitude but struggled to express their thanks adequately to the police officers who helped find their daughter.
The prompt action by Pune's law enforcement showcases their dedication to public safety. This case also underscores the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in ensuring swift resolutions during emergencies.
