Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary Sent To Police Custody Till July 3

The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has taken a fresh turn after a court remanded the two accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, to police custody till July 3. Investigators are continuing to examine the alleged conspiracy, financial transactions and digital evidence linked to the case.

Police Continue Probe Into Alleged Murder Conspiracy

Siya Goyal, 20, and Chetan Chaudhary, 22, have been arrested for allegedly murdering Ketan Agarwal by pushing him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. With the accused now in police custody until July 3, officers are expected to question them further to verify the sequence of events and gather additional evidence.

The police are investigating several aspects of the case, including the alleged planning behind the murder, the financial trail, and the movements of both accused before and after the incident.

Investigators Probe Money Trail And Future Plans

According to investigators, Ketan had reportedly given Siya nearly Rs 1 crore for wedding-related expenses. However, police suspect the money was never used for the wedding and was instead transferred to Chetan, who allegedly intended to invest it in his business and career.

Investigators also claim the accused had discussed their future after the alleged murder. According to the probe, they planned to avoid marrying immediately after Ketan's death and instead remain apart for around three years so that public attention on the case would diminish. Police believe they intended to marry later with the approval of Siya's family.

Alleged Murder Was Carefully Planned, Say Police

The investigation suggests the alleged crime was planned in advance. Police claim Siya and Chetan had agreed on a specific signal that would indicate the exact moment to attack Ketan.

According to investigators, Siya was to sit down on the pretext of drinking water or tying her shoelaces. That gesture would signal Chetan to push Ketan into the gorge.

"The signal was chosen deliberately so that Goyal would not be within the victim's reach during the fatal push. They feared that if Chetan pushed Ketan and the latter tried to grab Siya while falling, she too could fall into the gorge. The plan was made keeping her safety in mind," an official told PTI.

Digital And Physical Evidence Under Examination

Police are also analysing digital evidence collected during the investigation. Officials claim Chetan travelled nearly 90 kilometres from Pune to Lohagad Fort on a scooter instead of using a car to avoid toll plaza surveillance. The scooter has since been seized.

Investigators are also examining call records which allegedly show that Siya contacted Chetan around 34 minutes before Ketan's death. Police suspect the conversation was the final coordination between the two before the alleged murder.

With both accused now in police custody until July 3, investigators are expected to continue questioning them as they seek to establish the complete chain of events surrounding Ketan Agarwal's death.
