156 Detained, Including Minors, As Pune Police Bust Late-Night 'Project X' Rave Party

A late-night rave party named "Project X" was raided by Pune Police in the early hours of Sunday, leading to the detention of 156 people, including minors.

The party was allegedly being held at a bungalow in Tulapur, located on the outskirts of Pune, without the required permissions and beyond the permitted time limit.

Police said the operation was carried out after receiving specific information about an unauthorised gathering taking place under the jurisdiction of the Lonikand Police Station.

Crime Branch Conducts Early-Morning Raid

According to officials, the Crime Branch launched the raid at around 2:30 am.
A large police team, comprising 15 officers and 65 constables, reached the venue and found hundreds of people attending the event.

During the operation, police detained 107 men and 49 women who were present at the bungalow.

Authorities said the party was continuing several hours after the liquor permit had expired.

Minors Among Those Found At Venue

One of the most serious concerns raised by the raid was the presence of underage attendees. Police said three individuals present at the event were below the legal drinking age of 21 years.

Officials are now examining how minors gained access to the party and whether organisers violated regulations related to age verification and alcohol consumption.

Party Allegedly Continued Beyond Permitted Hours

Investigators said the event had permission to serve liquor only until 11:30 pm on June 6.
However, when police arrived after 2:30 am, the gathering was still underway.

Officials believe the organisers continued the event despite the expiry of the authorised permit, leading to multiple violations of local regulations.

Liquor, Hookah Products And Ganja Recovered

During the raid, police recovered several prohibited and regulated substances from the venue.

According to officials, around three grams of ganja were seized during the operation.
Police also found three hookah pots containing 10 banned hookah flavours.

In addition, liquor stock worth approximately ₹9.22 lakh was recovered from the property.
Authorities estimated the total value of the seized material at around ₹85 lakh.

Who Organised The Event?

Police identified Aiman Sheikh of Blaze Entertainment and Yash Chaudhary of Star Light Entertainment as the principal organisers of the event.

Officials are questioning individuals connected to the gathering to determine whether all legal requirements were followed and to identify any additional violations.

The investigation is also expected to examine the role of other organisers and venue managers involved in hosting the party.

Case Registered Against 78 People

Following the raid, police registered a case against 78 individuals, including the organisers. Authorities said legal proceedings have been initiated and further action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
Officials are currently verifying documents, permits and other evidence collected from the venue.

Crackdown On Illegal Gatherings

The raid highlights increasing scrutiny of unauthorised late-night events in and around Pune.

Law enforcement agencies have stepped up monitoring of parties and entertainment events following concerns about drug use, underage attendance and violations of licensing rules.

Police said investigations into the "Project X" rave party are continuing and additional action may follow as more details emerge.

The incident has once again raised questions about event regulation, enforcement of age restrictions and compliance with public safety norms at private parties.
