The Chief Minister's directives included a comprehensive strategy for traffic management and parking along the pilgrimage routes to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted journey for the devotees. He stressed the importance of not only preparing for the influx of pilgrims but also safeguarding their health through screening tests and ensuring the well-being of animals used in the Yatra, like horses and mules, through timely health check-ups and provisions of hot water and fodder. Recognizing the challenges from the previous year's Yatra, he instructed officials to refine the future plan, focusing on minimizing disruptions for the devotees and completing any ongoing road construction or route widening projects promptly.

Enhancing Safety and Convenience for Pilgrims
To further safeguard pilgrims, the Chief Minister ordered strict measures against the exploitation in helicopter ticket sales and called for the establishment of ample toilet facilities, including pink toilets, along the routes. He advocated for intensive cleanliness drives, led by public officials and representatives, to maintain hygiene throughout the Yatra paths. The instructions also covered the necessity of alternative routes, enhanced mobile connectivity, resource availability at critical locations, drone surveillance, and the dissemination of helpline numbers to assist pilgrims. Additionally, he called for improvements in real-time weather forecasting to facilitate better planning and safety for the attendees.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to review the ongoing preparations with the District Magistrates of the regions involved in the pilgrimage through a virtual meeting. He placed a strong emphasis on the promotion of single-use plastic alternatives and the advancement of the Green Chardham Yatra initiative. These efforts are aimed at preserving the sanctity and beauty of the pilgrimage sites while ensuring the safety and comfort of the devotees.

Looking beyond the immediate Yatra, Chief Minister Dhami deliberated on long-term plans for the state's winter travel destinations and the sacred sites of Gangotri and Yamunotri. He directed the formulation of a master plan that includes the development of surrounding areas and the preparation for significant future events like the Nanda Raj Jat in 2026 and the Kumbh in 2027. He encouraged IAS, IPS, and PCS officers to engage deeply with the regions they commenced their careers in, by staying overnight, addressing public issues, and evaluating the quality of local government services.

The meeting was attended by key members of the state government, including Cabinet Minister Mr. Satpal Maharaj, other ministers, and senior officials from various departments, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to ensure the success of the upcoming Chardham Yatra. Through these directives, the Chief Minister has laid the groundwork for a pilgrimage that is not only smooth and safe but also environmentally conscious, aligning with the broader goals of sustainable development and spiritual fulfillment.
