PM Modi To Visit Bihar On National Panchayati Raj Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on April 24 to participate in National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhubani. During his visit, the Prime Minister is set to initiate and complete a variety of development projects across the state, collectively valued at over Rs 13,480 crore. These ventures span various sectors, aiming to bolster the region's infrastructure, energy supply, and rail connectivity, thus promising a boost in socio-economic growth.
Among the key projects, Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for initiatives worth more than Rs 6,200 crore in the power sector. This includes the inauguration of projects exceeding Rs 5,030 crore under the Restructured Distribution Sector Scheme and the commencement of work on power infrastructures exceeding Rs 1,170 crore. Additionally, the Prime Minister's agenda features the launch of a LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility in Hathua, Gopalganj district, entailing an investment of approximately Rs 340 crore. This facility is expected to enhance the efficiency of bulk LPG transportation and streamline the supply chain in the area.

Rail Connectivity Enhancements
The Prime Minister's commitment to improving rail connectivity will be evident as he flags off new train services, including the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, and the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail connecting Jaynagar and Patna. Besides, trains from Pipra to Saharsa and Saharsa to Samastipur will also commence, enhancing the region's accessibility. Modi will also inaugurate the Supaul-Pipra and Hasanpur-Bithan rail lines and dedicate two 2-lane rail over bridges at Chhapra and Bagaha, along with the Khagaria-Alauliya rail line, to the nation. These rail projects promise to significantly improve connectivity and foster the region's socio-economic development.
In line with fostering community development and supporting rural livelihoods, Modi will distribute benefits totalling about Rs 930 crore to over 2,00,000 self-help groups in Bihar as part of the Community Investment Fund under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). Furthermore, the Prime Minister will allocate sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin and release instalments to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries nationwide. Additionally, he will facilitate the handover of keys to beneficiaries for the Griha Pravesh of 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-U houses in Bihar, emphasizing the government's commitment to housing and women's empowerment.
Awards and Recognitions
During the event, Modi will also acknowledge the contributions of the best performing panchayats by presenting the National Panchayat Awards. This gesture underscores the importance of local governance structures in India's development narrative.
The Prime Minister's visit to Bihar and his participation in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebration are not just ceremonial. They signify a comprehensive push towards enhancing the state's infrastructure, energy sector, rail connectivity, and social welfare schemes. The development projects launched and inaugurated by Modi are poised to give a new impetus to Bihar's path of progress, aligning with broader goals of national development and empowerment.
