More Than 21,000 Differently Abled People Benefit From Sambal Yojana

The Bihar government continues to support the differently-abled community through its ambitious Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana. Under this initiative, a total of 21,185 differently-abled individuals have received battery-operated tricycles to date. The scheme has received 31,642 applications from all 38 districts, with 23,045 of these applications being approved.

Patna district, the highest applicant region, received 2,340 applications, out of which 1,885 were approved and 1,833 applicants were provided with battery-operated tricycles. The process of distributing tricycles to the remaining approved applicants is currently ongoing.

Similarly, other districts with a high volume of applications have also seen significant distribution. For instance, Rohtas district received 1,684 applications, of which 1,248 were approved and 1,207 individuals have benefited from the scheme. Aurangabad district received 1,542 applications, with 1,075 approved, and 944 beneficiaries have received their tricycles. Additionally, 1,446 applications were received from East Champaran, with 988 approved and 876 beneficiaries receiving tricycles. Bhojpur district received 1,295 applications, 1,029 of which were approved, and 960 applicants have been given tricycles.

Jaikishore's Transformation In Nawada

One of the notable beneficiaries, Jaikishore, son of Arjun Prasad Paswan from Sarauni village, Kauakol, received his battery-operated tricycle on 3 December 2022 through the Empowerment Cell of Nawada district. Jaikishore works as a data entry operator in Nardiganj for Beltran and used to face significant difficulties commuting daily to his office. However, with the assistance of the battery-operated tricycle, Jaikishore's life has been significantly transformed. His daily commute has become easier, bringing renewed enthusiasm to his routine. Jaikishore is just one example of many differently-abled individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by this initiative.

Application Process

Divyang individuals wishing to apply for a battery-operated tricycle can do so through the Social Welfare Department's website: http://sambalyojana.bihar.gov.in/SWFTC/Default.aspx. Applicants must first register by providing their mobile number, email ID, and Aadhaar number. Upon registration, a user ID will be issued, which can then be used to complete the application.
