The historic Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for Khel Mahakumbh: Samvad Sangam was held today at the Sangam Kshetra, Prayagraj, marking the commencement of preparations for the first-ever sports conclave. This week-long event, set to take place from 5th to 12th February 2025, aims to revolutionize India's sporting landscape by bringing together policymakers, athletes, corporates, and thought leaders to discuss the future of sports in India.

The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony was graced by Shri Girish Chandra Yadav, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Youth Welfare and Sports, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Awanish Kumar Singh, President of Kreeda Bharati Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Pankaj Ji, President of Kreeda Bharati Kashi Prant, along with several other prominent dignitaries, policymakers, and sports figures. Shri Girish Chandra Yadav expressed his excitement for the event, stating, "Today's Bhoomi Poojan marks the beginning of an initiative that will empower athletes, promote indigenous sports, and shape India's sporting future. Under the guidance of Hon'ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji, this event will serve as a vital platform for collaboration and growth in the sports sector."

Shri Awanish Kumar Singh, President of Kreeda Bharati Uttar Pradesh, remarked, "This is a monumental occasion. Khel Mahakumbh is not just an event-it's a movement to empower the sporting ecosystem. With unwavering support from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, this initiative will revive India's rich sporting heritage and position the nation as a global sporting leader."

In a pioneering collaboration, Kreeda Bharati has joined hands with The Yellow Coin Communication (TYC Communication) to execute this first-of-its-kind sports conclave. The unique feature of Khel Mahakumbh: Samvad Sangam is that it combines dialogue with live games, allowing participants to engage in discussions while experiencing competitions firsthand.

Geeta Singh, Director of TYC Communication, shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating:

"What better place than Prayagraj and what better time than the Maha Kumbh to start something that has the potential to change the face of sports in the country. India is a sleeping power in sports, and we need to awaken this giant and make it a superpower in sports."

Organized by Kreeda Bharati, established in 1992 under the vision of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and TYC Communication, Khel Mahakumbh: Samvad Sangam marks a significant step towards empowering emerging athletes and providing a platform for underprivileged talent. The event aims to create long-term opportunities, with a focus on grassroots development and building a strong foundation for India's Olympic ambitions.

The Khel Mahakumbh will feature seven days of high-profile discussions and competitions, focusing on topics such as India's preparations for the 2036 Olympics, strategies for increasing medal counts, and the role of corporates in sports development. Over 28 states and 8 Union Territories will participate, with competitions in Mallakhamb, Kushti (Wrestling), Archery, Kabaddi, and more. An Experience Zone will also introduce attendees to traditional Indian games like Gilli-Danda, Tug-of-War, and Fugdi.

The event will culminate with the felicitation of 100 unsung heroes of Indian sports-athletes, coaches, and contributors who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of Indian sports.
