HITS Organises Career Compass 2023, An Open House Event for School students
Chennai, 06: The Career Compass 2023 - An Open House for school students was organized by Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai on 5 and 6 January 2023. The event presented the students with various options to choose their dream career path.

Competitions such as Young Scientist, Elocution, and Science Quiz was conducted to enthuse the students and they won prizes worth Rupees Two Lakhs. Also, special motivational lectures on, Start-up at School and Robotics and AI were delivered by Expert professors of Hindustan.
The students visited various projects displayed by Departments that showcased the unique features of every programme.
Some of the prominent projects are Multi-Purpose Agriculture Machine, Pneumatic Jack, Folding Bridge Miniature Model (KIEL), Transmission Tower (3D-Model), Smart Solar DC, Contactless IOT Security System, Working of Heart Model, Recombinant DNA Model, Women Safety Night Patrolling IoT Robot.
The event was attended by more than 3,500 students from 55 rural and city, government and private schools from the districts of Chennai, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram.
Sherin Someetharan, Additional Commissioner - Customs and GST, Chennai, while inaugurating the event said that this is a great opportunity and a good platform for the school students to gain confidence and also to know the different career options available after school education. She urged the students to think beyond medicine, engineering and technology and explore the various options available in the field of Arts and Science.
Dr Devendran Thirunavukarasu, Founder and CTO, ST Advanced Composites, Shizuoka, Japan also Alumnus of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, in his special address advised the students to set their goals and work towards achieving them.
He said that the Institution offers other opportunities beyond academics like industrial visits, internships with government agencies and private sectors which helped in building his career. He encouraged the students to make the right decision in choosing their future career paths.
Dr R. W. Alexander Jesudasan, Pro Vice Chancellor, Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, in his presidential address, briefed about the intention behind organizing Career Compass and emphasized the need to stay focused and excel in the chosen discipline.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Densingh Joshua Israel, Chief Coordinator, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Srideivanai Nagarajan, Coordinator.
