HITS and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) signs MoU as a part of global collaboration
Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS), Padur, Chennai and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), UK, have formalized a MoU on February 9, 2024 at HITS campus. The MoU was signed by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor, HITS, and Professor Colin Bailey, President and Principal of QMUL.
As part of this strategic partnership, HITS and QMUL will focus on various initiatives, including collaborative research projects, the exchange of faculty members and research scholars, short-term study abroad programs, pathway programs, joint conferences, and academic internships. The MoU also facilitates the exchange of knowledge and resources, promoting joint efforts in research, training, and education.

In his address, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor HITShighlighted the importance of international alliances with top-tier universities and academic institutions worldwide and their significant impact on the quality of education provided to HITS students. He highlighted the imperative for the global workforce to stay updated with cutting-edge technology, emphasizing the global exposure to knowledge as a vital aspect of international collaborations.
Professor Colin Bailey, President and Principal of QMUL, shared his thoughts on the collaboration, and said that he is looking forward to having an exchange of expertise between the institutions. He emphasized the positive impact it would have on the community as a whole.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dr.N.Sridhara, Vice Chancellor HITS, Dr.PonRamaligam Registrar HITS, Dr.Manoharan, Director-Project HITS, Dr.Maggie Leggett, Director of External Relations, QMUL and Dr. Jae- Hwan Park, Director of MSc Engineering Management and Degree Apprenticeship in Engineering.
