Erode medical college & hosp building sets new records as Teemage Precast sets up facility in just 45 days

Tamil Nadu, July 13: Thanks to Tirupur-based Teemage Builders Private Limited, which recently constructed a speciality block of the Government Erode Medical College and Hospitals in Erode District, Tamil Nadu in just 45 days using precast concrete technology. The construction commenced on May 18 and completed on July 1 2021.

Despite the pandemic situation and lockdown, the district administration had permitted the contractor to continue the construction, as the building would come handy if there is a third wave of COVID in India.

The Total area of construction of the building is 6428.89087 Square Meters (69200.0056 Square Feet).

The Construction of the Building was completed exactly in 45 Days. The Constructed Hospital can accommodate 401 In-Patients (General Ward/ Common Ward).

The Construction of the hospital building was done using Precast concrete construction technology with structural(shear) wall system.

In the structural wall system, the structure is made out of walls-slabs system with no column/beams within it thereby helps in increasing its free space usage efficiency and functional modification at any point of time.

All Precast elements were made/manufactured at factory (controlled) environment with rigorous quality assessment and it was then transported and assembled at construction site.

The structural joints were using high strength cementitious grout, as per global standards. The roof system were of hollow core slab system with voids in it helping in increasing thermal comfort in addition self weight reduction going to its foundation system.

The Hospital Building consists of all provisions and versatility for future modification for a smooth and efficient hospital function.

The Technical Team in the specific field has certified that the constructed building has met with all standards as per precast concrete construction technology. The Hospital Constructed by Teemage Builders Private Limited was handed over to the Government Erode Medical College and Hospital, Perundurai, Erode District on July 2, 2021.

It is expected that this newly constructed hospital will be utilised as the COVID Block during this pandemic which will facilitate

201 Beds with Oxygen Support and 200 Beds in the General Ward totalling to 401 in-patient beds.

The Building was contracted to Teemage Builders Private Limited by Rotary Health Care Trust and in turn it is handed over to Governrnment Erode Medical College and Hospitals, IRT Campus, Perundurai for a Social Cause.

The construction was held during the COVID Lockdown period with the Special Permission from the District Administration. And focusing on the Social Cause and Responsibility, M/s Teemage Builders Private Limited, have completed this building with all global standards in 45 days by adopting Precast Concrete Technology.
