Encourage Destination Weddings! Uttarakhand CM Asks Officials To Find New Locations, Highlights Development
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday chaired a meeting with officials at the Secretariat to emphasise promoting destination weddings in Uttarakhand. CM instructed improvements in road connectivity at Triyugi Narayan and the construction of a helipad there. The Chief Minister also stressed identifying new locations for destination weddings, highlighting their development as crucial.
The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to prioritise Uttarakhand for destination weddings. This initiative is expected to boost the state's economy significantly. The natural beauty combined with modern amenities will position Uttarakhand as a prime wedding location.

Focus on Infrastructure and Development
Dhami directed the Tourism Department to draft guidelines for "Destination Uttarakhand" promptly. Enhancing infrastructure, such as roads and helipads, is vital for attracting more wedding events. By improving these facilities, the state aims to offer seamless experiences for visitors and wedding parties alike.
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Vice President of Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, and Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan were among those present at the meeting. Other attendees included Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Sachin Kurve, Additional Director General of Police V. Murugeshan, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, and IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop.
