Constable Shivani Promoted to Head Constable After Wushu Championship 2025 Win

Constable Shivani of BSF has been given an out-of-turn promotion to the rank of Head Constable today for her outstanding performance in the World Wushu Championship. The rank ceremony was conducted by Sh Daljit Singh Chawdhary, DG BSF, at BSF Camp Chhawla.

Constable Shivani has earned this promotion within just five months of her service with the BSF. Necessary relaxations and permissions were obtained from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), GoI.

Constable Shivani (now Head Constable) represented India at the 17th World Wushu Championship 2025 in Brazil and won a Silver medal. Her rank ceremony was attended by senior BSF officers and the congregation of sports personnel of BSF.

Speaking on the occasion, DG BSF Sh Daljit Singh Chawdhary congratulated Head Constable Shivani and exhorted the BSF sportspersons present that Shivani's exceptional achievement in sports, along with her out-of-turn promotion, serves as an example for others to follow.

Earlier, in July 2025, Constable Anuj of the BSF Central Wushu Team was given an out-of-turn promotion for his outstanding performance at the 10th Sanda World Wushu Championship held in China in April 2025.
