Bihar To Host State Bird Festival ‘Kalrav 2025’ At Nagi-Nakti Sanctuary On February 27, 28

The Bihar government's Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change is organising the state bird festival 'Kalrav 2025' at the Nagi-Nakti Bird Sanctuary on 27 and 28 February.

As part of the event, a bike rally was flagged off today from Aranya Bhavan, Patna, by the Minister for Forest and Environment, Dr Prem Kumar.

The rally will travel to the Nagi Bird Sanctuary in Jamui, raising public awareness about bird conservation, biodiversity, and environmental protection.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Prem Kumar stated that the 'Kalrav Festival' aims to raise awareness about Bihar's rich biodiversity and the importance of bird conservation.

He emphasised that Bihar is home to many rare bird species, and their protection is a shared responsibility.

Events like these not only promote environmental conservation but also give a significant boost to tourism. He urged everyone to contribute towards preserving the incredible world of nature and birds.

Senior officials from the Forest Department were also present at the event.

Notable attendees included Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Shri Prabhat Kumar Gupta, PCCF (Development) Shri Arvinder Singh, Additional PCCF (Training and Extension) Shri Abhay Kumar Dwivedi, Director of Ecology and Environment Shri Abhay Kumar, Conservator of Forests (Wildlife Division, Patna) Shri Satyajit Kumar, Director of Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, Patna, Shri Hemant Patil, and Chief Conservator of Forests (IT) Shri S. Chandrasekhar, along with several other officials and wildlife enthusiasts.

It is noteworthy that the 'Kalrav 2025' state bird festival is a significant initiative by the Bihar government to promote bird conservation.

Experts, nature lovers, and researchers have also been invited to participate in the event, which serves as an environmentally friendly festival while simultaneously boosting tourism.
