40th India Area Convention of Y’s Men International held in Chennai

Chennai, Jun 12: The 40th India Area Convention of Y's Men International (YMI) was held on Saturday at Hotel Hilton, Chennai.

The convention was graced by the presence of Dr. Kim Sang-Chae, International President of YMI from Korea; Jacob Kristensen, Immediate Past International President from Denmark, T.M. Jose, International Treasurer and other leaders of Y's Men International.

Past International President V.S Bashir was the Chief Patron & Advisor along with Past Area President Thomas V John, Chairman for the Convention. The India Area of Y's Men International consists of 8 regions extended to Middle East countries, participated in this convention.

During the convention HRM. Dr. Anand Jacob Varghese was installed as the India Area President of YMI for the year 2022-23 by Dr. Kim Sang-Chae, International President of YMI.

This year marks the centenary celebrations of Y's Men International which was founded in 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, USA. To mark the centenary celebrations Centenary LifeTime Achievement award was presented to Padma Bhushan Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai for his phenomenal achievement in the field of Aerospace and Centenary.

Life Time Excellence Award was presented to Prof Dr. J.A Jayalal, Immediate Past National President of Indian Medical Association, for his phenomenal achievement in the field of Surgery.

A Centenary Stamp was also released during the convention and several projects such as Kidney Dialysis, Care for Cancer Patients, Home for Homeless, Geriatric Care Projects and many more humanitarian projects have been planned.

The Area Theme for the year is Impactful Leadership and Fostering Humanity along with area slogan Think, Believe and Act.
