Guj:First mass marriage to be held in village of prostitutes

Ahmedabad, Feb 20: As many as 15 prostitutes in Wadia village of Gujarat are getting ready for a mass marriage on March 11. Wadia is known as the village of prostitutes in Gujarat, reports

Report further stated that, in the Wadia village for the first time, the girls will not be forced into the flesh trade.

The prostitutes belong to the Sarania community, where the young girls from Rajasthan and Saurashtra are used in the flesh trade.

Meanwhile, a NGO convinced boys from the Sarania community to marry the girls by building trust among them. Seven girls above 18 years of age and eight girls who are younger will take part in the mass marriage.
