No toilet? No ticket to contest in polls
Patna, Nov 20: Those who have no toilet at home cannot contest in Bihar local body polls, stated Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday at an event in Patna held in association with World Toilet Day.

Nitish said his government will bring necessary amendments to the Bihar panchayati raj Act and ensure no person who doesnt have a toilet at home gets the ticket to contest in local body polls.

According to the central government plans, 1.11 crore toilets will be constructed in the state, but Bihar has over two crore families who do not have a toilet in their home, said Nitish Kumar.

"I personally request every financially capable person, including those associated with governmental institutions, to get toilets constructed on their premises," the chief minister said.

The event was organised by rural development and public health engineering department of Bihar.
