Nitish Kumar congratulates Sakshi Mallik for winning

Patna, Aug 18: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today conveyed his heartiest congratulations to wrestler Sakshi Malik on winning a bronze medal in the Rio Olympics.

"Sakshi Malik by winning a medal in women's wrestling has written a new history for which countrymen are feeling proud of her," he said in his message.

"I pray for her bright future," Kumar said.

The chief minister said he desired that the wrestler reaches a newer height of glory and illuminates the name of the country in the world.

Gritty woman wrestler Sakshi Malik ended India's painful wait for a medal at the Rio Olympic Games by clinching the bronze in the 58kg category, pulling off a sensational 8-5 victory over Aisuluu Tynybekova in the Play-off bout last night.
