NDRF team rescues Bihar MLC, 6 others from capsized boat

Patna, Aug 30: National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team today rescued Bihar MLC Rajnish Kumar and six others when the latter's motor boat capsized in the river Ganga in Lakhisarai district during a relief distribution, NDRF release said on Monday.

The incident occurred when the MLC, who belongs to BJP and represents Begusarai and Khagaria local area constituency, was going to Samho in Begusarai district for relief distribution among the flood affected people.

His boat capsized somewhere near Suryagarha in Lakhisarai district in swollen Ganga, the release said.

An NDRF sub-team led by Sub-Inspector Om Prakash Meena rescued all the seven persons including the MLC Rajnish Kumar, and his bodyguard who were onboard.
