Minister Giriraj Singh Reacts To Assault Attempt In Bihar
According to reports, a man attempted to punch Union Minister Giriraj Singh during a public event in Begai, Bihar. The incident occurred as Giriraj Singh was concluding a Janata Darbar in his home constituency, approximately 125 kilometers from Patna. The 71-year-old leader was wrapping up the event when the man his microphone and tried to strike him.
Party workers and security personnel quickly intervened to protect Giriraj Singh. In a video message, the minister, who holds the textiles portfolio, stated, "When I was leaving the event, the man took the mic forcefully and started behaving as if he was going to attack me. He started raising 'Murdabad' slogans. I am not afraid of such attacks."

Security Concerns at Public Events
Giriraj Singh emphasized his commitment to speaking for societal interests despite threats. "I am Giriraj Singh and I will always speak and fight for the interests of society. Giriraj Singh is not afraid of such things. We will continue to raise our voice against whoever wants to spoil communal harmony," he added.
The BJP leader is known for his controversial remarks and further commented on the potential danger he faced. "If this man had a revolver in his hand, he would have killed me the way he attacked me. However, his attack failed. He used very abusive language. No matter how many terror mongers come, it will not affect me," Giriraj Singh said.
Police Investigation Underway
The assailant was overpowered by those present at the event and subsequently handed over to the police. Begusarai Superintendent of Police Maneesh told PTI: "The person is in the custody of the police. We are investigating the matter".
In June, actor-politician Kangana Ranaut faced a similar incident when she was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable at Chandigarh airport over alleged disrespect towards farmers. Ms Ranaut, who won a Lok Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, was about to board a flight to Delhi when it happened.
CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur was suspended following the incident and an FIR was filed against her. She was later transferred to a reserve battalion of CISF in Bengaluru.
Giriraj Singh reiterated his stance on continuing his work undeterred by such incidents. His resolve remains firm despite facing physical threats during public engagements.
