Mahadalit student beaten to death in Bihar

Bhagalpur (Bihar), Feb 5: A 'Mahadalit' class VII student was allegedly beaten to death by some people at Milki in Bhagalpur district, police said on Thursday.

Shravan Rishideo (15) had gone to buy a few things from the local grocery store last night.

"Shravan vanished thereafter and his body was discovered tied to a tree by the villagers this morning. Prima facie he was beaten to death," Kahalgaon Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Neeraj Kumar Singh said.

Shravan's father Nago Rishideo has lodged an FIR accusing seven persons, including one Sikandar Mandal and his four sons in the murder, he said.
