Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana said the blast was a low-intensity one and that two live bombs were also found and defused later.

Six persons were killed while more than 80 were injured in a series of blasts that had rocked the Bihar capital on October 27, 2013, when a massive election rally of BJP's the then prime minister candidate Narendra Modi was held.
Also in July that year, a series of blasts had occurred in and around the Mahabodhi Temple complex in Bodh Gaya in Bihar. Five persons, including two Buddhis monks, were injured in the blasts.
