Hindi journalist shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bihar
According to sources, Dharmendra, was at a tea stall near his house early in morning when three bike-borne assailants opened fire at him.
Sasaram, Nov 12: A journalist was shot dead on Saturday early morning allegedly by three unidentified persons near his residence here over his articles on illegal stone chips units, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Dharmender Singh who worked with a Hindi daily.
According to sub divisional police officer Alok Ranjan, ''Dharmendra, was at a tea stall near his house early in morning when three bike-borne assailants assailant pumped bullet in his stomach.'' The victim, who was profusely bleeding was rushed to a nearby hospital by the locals from where he was referred to a Hospital in Varanasi. However, Dharmendra succumbed to injuries on his way to Varanasi. Dharmendra is survived by wife and a son.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the perpetrators. The murder is suspectedly linked to illegal quarrying business in Rohtas district.
Earlier, the killing of another scribe, Rajdeo Ranjan, at Siwan in the same district in May last had sent shockwaves throughout the country.
