Bomb Threat To Bihar Legislative Assembly Triggers High Alert, Search Operations Launched

The Bihar Legislative Assembly received a bomb threat via email on Friday, triggering immediate security action and a detailed inspection of the premises.

Police officials confirmed that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure safety.

Threat Email Prompts Immediate Action

According to Sachiwalay-1 Sub-divisional Police Officer Anu Kumari, the Assembly authorities received an email warning of a possible bomb threat. As soon as the information was reported, police teams rushed to the spot.

Security agencies began a thorough search of the Assembly building to rule out any danger. Officials stated that the situation is being handled with seriousness, keeping public safety as the top priority.

Bomb Squad and Dog Units Deployed

Specialised teams, including bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units, were deployed at the site. A complete sanitisation and checking process is underway to ensure that no suspicious object is present inside the Assembly premises.

Authorities are not taking any chances, especially considering that a similar threat was reported earlier on March 13, which later turned out to be a hoax.

Similar Threat Sent to Delhi Assembly

In a related development, the Delhi Legislative Assembly also received a bomb threat email a day earlier, on Thursday.

The email was sent to multiple government offices around 8:14 am, warning about possible explosions at several locations, including:

• Assembly premises
• Secretariat
• Schools
• A metro station

Following the alert, Delhi Police carried out extensive security checks across all mentioned locations.

Officials later said that the threat appears to be a hoax, but strict security measures were still followed. Entry and exit points were closely monitored, and additional personnel were deployed in sensitive areas.

Cyber teams have also been assigned to trace the source of the email and identify the sender.

Schools in Punjab Also Receive Threats

The situation is not limited to Bihar and Delhi. Recently, several schools in Patiala, Punjab, also received bomb threat emails.

After the alerts:

• Bomb squads and dog units were sent to the schools
• Thorough search operations were conducted
• Premises were checked and sanitised

Officials confirmed that no suspicious items were found.

Pattern of Hoax Threats Emerging

These incidents come amid a series of similar threats reported in recent weeks across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. In most cases, the threats were later found to be false alarms.

Despite this, authorities continue to treat every alert seriously to avoid any risk.
