BJP Fields Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh To Contest Lok Sabha Elections 2024 From West Bengal's Asansol

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday placed Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh from West Bengal's Asansol to contest Lok Sabha Elections 2024. A contest between two actors hailing from Bihar is expected as Pawan Singh is likely to take on Trinamool Congress' Shatrughan Sinha if Mamata Banerjee's state ruling party announces to give him a ticket again.

West Bengal has 42 Lok Sabha seats and the INDIA bloc is looking forward to win the maximum number of seats here as Mamata Banerjee is one of the powerful and senior most leaders of Opposition's alliance. However, BJP has similar plans to achieve its target of 400+ seats.

After his name was announced, Pawan Singh told the media that "he is very happy and thankful to the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said he is glad that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown trust in him and he believes that the people of Asansol will surely make him win this election."

Pawan Singh added that he will go door to door to seek the blessings of the people of Asansol.

Bhojpuri star further added that he has an old relationship with West Bengal as his father used to work in Bengal and send money to them for the family's survival. He has salt of Bengal in his body.

Expressing confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's poor uplifting policies, Pawan Singh said BJP will definitely win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

'I am a soldier of BJP family', Pawan Singh told the media.
