Bihar: Jitan Ram Manjhi's Son Santosh Manjhi Says He Cares More About People, Not Power

Santosh Manjhi, son of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, on Sunday, junked the reports claiming that he has resigned from Bihar's newly formed Nitish Kumar Government. Santosh Manjhi has been heading the Scheduled Caste/Tribe Ministry, along with the IT department.

Sharing a post on the micro-blogging site X, Santosh Manjhi said, "Hello friends! The news of my resignation is being spread, which is completely baseless. I was, am, and will remain with NDA. There is no need to get involved in anyone's words. I cannot touch the politics of greed and allurement even with tongs. I care more about Bihar than power."

A few days ago, the Jitan Ram Manjhi had demanded two more ministerial posts amid the political unrest in Bihar. Though, the news of Santosh Manjhi's resignation turned out to be a fake one, but it had raised the temperature and speculations of another twist in Bihar's politics. The news was also a ray of hope for RJD supporters who are still waiting for the floor test for the Nitish Kumar government, and looking forward to Tejaswi Yadav's ace move that might turn the table around.

Meanwhile, 16 Bihar Congress MLAs were flown to Hyderabad amid fears of horsetrading ahead of Nitish Kumar Government's floor test. AICC Bihar in-charge Mohan Prakash told the media that all Congress lawmakers are intact and will continue to be a part of Mahagathbandhan.

Bihar Congress chief also added that Nitish Kumar should worry about his members, dropping a hint about another 'Khela' to take place in the Hindi heartland.

"They (JDU) should worry about keeping their flock together," Prakash said.
