Patna, Aug 24: Ahead of Bihar assembly elections, BJP leader Giriraj Singh is hopeful of his party's victory in poll-bound state.

The BJP MP's statement comes in the wake of actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha's comment in which he asserted that the people of Bihar have every right to know as to who would be their leader in the upcoming assembly polls.

Sinha, BJP MP from Patna Sahib, said it was his personal opinion that an acceptable, respectable, senior and matured leader Ram Vilas Paswan should be the chief ministerial candidate of the NDA alliance in Bihar.[BJP leader Giriraj Singh writes an open letter to the people of Bihar]

"I think that Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan is a very capable and a very qualified person that's why I have spoken about him," Sinha told ANI on Sunday.

Ram Vilas Paswan has been a popular leader of the NDA alliance in Bihar.

It must be noted that in 2010 assembly elections, the BJP had won 91 seats and JD(U) had won 115 seats. The NDA alliance of BJP and JD(U) had jointly bagged 206 seats out of 243 assembly seats in the state.

This time both the BJP and JD(U) are contesting as rival parties hence its a do or die situation for every major political party in the state. BJP is confident about its win following its victory in recent Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh civic polls.
