Early in his 20s, he made the decision to serve his community by training to be a police officer in New Zealand. He continued his training and continued to work a full-time job. He was absolutely confident that he would pass all of the physical requirements for the Police Training. But unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in 2015, necessitating surgery, which required him to delay his application for the police force. Once again, starting from scratch was difficult, but he gave himself time to recover and not lose hope.
