From Miss Sikkim to Film Screen: Inspiring Journey of Rajeswari Chakraborty

Amidst the dazzling lights of the glamorous beauty pageant, a young lady from Sikkim caught everyone's attention with her impeccable grace and beauty. Rajeswari Chakraborty, the reigning Miss Sikkim and Miss Northeast, had already won hearts with her charming persona and now is on a mission to conquer the world of cinema.Growing up in a quaint town of Sikkim, Rajeswari had always been a dreamer, fantasising about the glam world of red carpet but little did she knew about the subtle brewing interest in films. Her journey began as a model and beauty pageant contestant, where she kept on winning hearts with her beauty and wit. But as she grew older, her interest in acting piqued, and she realised that her true passion lay in portraying characters on the big screen.

Rajeswari's big break came when she was signed on for a short film with director Prithviraj Das Gupta, where she had to play the role of a deaf musician named Iris.

Iris is a mountain girl, born and raised in Kalimpong. Despite her physical limitations, she has always had a love for music. The only solace she found was in music - it was her way of expressing her emotions, her pain, and her love. Iris's life intertwines with a musician tourist who is visiting Kalimpong. The two form a deep connection despite the communication barriers, and their love for music brings them even closer. The film is a beautiful portrayal of how love can transcend all barriers, be it language or hearing.

Fascinated by the character, Rajeswari threw herself into the role, learning sign language and an instrument to give justice to her character.She portrayed Iris's character beautifully, bringing out all the nuances and emotions flawlessly. Her acting skills seemed beyond her years, and her performance as Iris has been getting a very positive response from the audience.
